About the Opportunity

Currently, Bellwyck is looking for a full-time Quality Control Inspector based out of our Toronto, Ontario location. We are hiring for our  weekend shift with the following schedule:

  • Weekend shift - 7am to 7pm, Friday-Sunday. This shift offers a 15% shift premium!

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Performs quality control inspections for the various manufacturing processes and conducts product sampling routines.
  • Identifies quality issues and non-conformances; issues problem identification forms; tags, puts product into disposition.
  • Provides advice and guidance on quality matters as well as adherence to SOP’s and operating standards.
  • Participates in the investigation and resolution of issues; lends expertise advice, makes recommendations.
  • Assigns, communicates and documents the next step for the product 
  • Consistently applies company SOP’s and standards as they relate to production, quality and compliance.
  • Thoroughly and accurately completes checklists and other paperwork.
  • Notes quality trends and reports information to the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Participates in the training of new employees as well as agency staff from a quality perspective.
  • Undertakes and/or coordinates sorting/re-work activities required for the disposition of non-conforming product.
  • Provides input to new and existing SOP’s and assists in performing audit exercises.
  • Performs Line Clearances and Make Ready Approvals.
  • Authorizes Certificates of Compliance in the absence of the Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager.
  • Responsible for adhering to housekeeping, Quality, Standard and other operating procedures as well as Health and Safety practices.
  • Assists in the selection and management of colour standards for approval and for use in production
  • Responsible for other duties as required.

 

More About You 

What You Bring to the Team:

  •  Minimum 1 year of experience in a Quality related position preferably in the Folding Carton Industry.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proofing ability.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and make sound recommendations.
  • Ability to consistently apply internal standards and specifications when judging product.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to explain, provide advice and expertise, to peers and management alike.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong computer skills and experience to use Microsoft Office as well as other software programs, proprietary or commercial.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
